Flexibility

Using the physical bridge as a metaphor, architects know to build a certain degree of ebb and sway into their designs. They need to account for wind, flowing water, potential earthquakes, and rattling caused by the use of the bridge, among other factors. Build the bridge too rigid and it will fall before too long. Correctly account for the intermittent factors and bridges can last throughout centuries.

Likewise, the interpersonal bridges of our lives need to maintain a certain degree of flexibility. As we move from one chapter to the next, we need to shed old ideas and concepts that no longer serve our purpose and embrace new ones that can catapult us forwards in a positive trajectory. While the tender loving hug may no longer be possible, indelible memories establish the formation of new bonds with others who enter the space of your life. Incredible opportunities await when appreciating that even the bad that occurs pushes you toward the good yet to come
